What has to change
- English is the default listing language and Arabic is accepted too, so an English listing written for amazon.ae is already in the right language here.
- Prices are in Egyptian pounds. The word "pound" here is a currency that is not sterling, and Egypt weighs in kilograms.
- Egypt uses Eastern Arabic digits alongside Western ones: "٥" and "5" are the same number written two ways.
What a translator gets wrong
Copy that says "pounds" meaning sterling or weight. On this store a pound is the local currency, and the weight is in kilograms.
The same title, both ways
Before
Nordhaus Digitale Küchenwaage 5 kg, Edelstahl
On amazon.eg
Nordhaus Digital Kitchen Scale 5 kg, Stainless Steel
German into English, the store default. In an Arabic title the same 5 is often written "٥".
Written as an illustration of the difference. For a real before and after from the engine, see the home page.
